📌 Mission Objective
As part of a fixed-bottom offshore wind farm development, the client entrusted us with the structural assessment of a monopile during its onshore transportation on Self-Propelled Modular Transporters (SPMTs).
The study aimed to evaluate the monopile’s structural response under combined loading from environmental actions (wind) and dynamic loads induced by the SPMT system during transport operations on site.
🧠 Approach & Actions
- MP technical inputs review and SPMT operator (monopile drawings, cradle/saddle layout)
- Design brief contribution : input data, calculation method, design requirements
- Built a full 3D CAD model of the monopile using SolidWorks
- Generated and loaded a finite element model in Ansys
- Performed strength and buckling analyses with Non Linear geometry (Contact between MP and saddles)
🗃️ Deliverables
- Structural analysis report
